THE DRESSES
WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF YOUR DRESSES?
We have wedding dresses ranging in price from $2,000-$15,000. A majority of our gowns fall within the range of $2,000-$5,000.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A WEDDING GOWN?
We strongly urge our brides to purchase their wedding gowns nine to twelve months before their wedding date. This will ensure that you have our required twelve weeks for alterations. Since the wedding gowns at Bride To Be Couture are made to order, it takes approximately six months to make the gown, depending on the designer. Please do not worry about losing weight. Most gowns can be altered at least two sizes without any problem. If you need a gown on a tighter timeline, we have a smaller selection of off the rack sample gowns available for sale, or you can visit our secondary location Olive & Ivory Bride.
THE EXPERIENCE
ARE APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED?
We are by appointment only on weekend days, and strongly urge all of our brides to make an appointment during the week as well. This way we can ensure that both a fitting room and stylist are available to you. We will do the best we can to accommodate walk in's, however bride's with an appointment will take first priority.
HOW MANY GUESTS DO YOU ALLOW?
We are currently limiting the number of guests per appointment to four (in addition to the bride) for our standard Bridal Appointments. If you would like to know your options for having more guests, please give us a call at
(916) 972-8223.
We understand that trying on bridal gowns can be one of the most exciting parts of being a bride, and we don't blame you for wanting to share that experience with those closest to you! However, to ensure that all of our brides have as comfortable and as personal of an experience as possible, we must limit the amount of space each party occupies. Our couches comfortably seat four guests. If you are looking to bring a larger party, please contact us about booking a private appointment.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY APPOINTMENT?
It is helpful to wear a strapless bra (some brides don’t wear one at all, that is okay too!) Keep in mind your stylist will be in the room with you, helping you in and out of the dresses, so wear light colored undergarments you are comfortable in front of a stranger in. We have pedestals at each dressing room to mimic the height that heels would give you without having to slip in and out of your shoes after each dress, but you are welcome to bring a pair of your own heels if it would better help you to envision your final look.
CAN I BRING CHAMPAGNE OR FOOD WITH ME?
You are welcome to bring champagne with you! If you need glasses to be provided, please let us know as far in advance as possible, as our supply is limited. We prefer that you do not bring food to your appointment, but would be happy to give recommendations to local restaurants nearby.
DO YOU ALLOW CHILDREN IN YOUR STORE?
As much as we love children, we strongly recommend not bringing little ones to your bridal appointment. However, we understand that at times this is unavoidable. If you must bring a child, we ask that someone is keeping a watchful eye on him or her the entire duration of the appointment, since there is a lot of expensive and breakable merchandise in store. If the child is an infant, we ask that if they start crying, please have someone step outside with them, as not to disrupt your or any other brides experience.
ALTERATIONS
BECAUSE WE ARE ORDERING THE GOWN IN MY SIZE, MY DRESS WILL FIT PERFECTLY WHEN IT COMES, RIGHT?
Not necessarily. When your gown is ordered, it will be ordered to accommodate your largest measurement, according to your bridal designer's size chart. It is not uncommon for a bride to be a different size in her bust than in her hips, or a different size in her waist than in her bust, etc. After you find your dream dress, your stylist will take your measurements and go over the designer size chart with you in order to help choose the best possible size. Most of the time, alterations will need to be done to achieve a perfect fit.
DO YOU OFFER IN HOUSE ALTERATIONS?
We currently have four seamstresses assisting our brides at our location, but you are not required to use them. They are third party contractors, and not directly affiliated with our company. However, they are familiar with both our employees and our dresses, and if you choose to have your alterations done with us, your stylist will be by your side through out the process.
HOW MUCH DO ALTERATIONS COST?
Alterations expenses will vary based on the amount of work being done, and the turn around time allowed. In general, you should budget between $900-$1,200.
