What type of dress were you originally looking for when you started dress shopping? Did you end up with something similar or completely different?
I came in to the shop with dreams of a beautiful flowing ballgown that I could spin around in and have fun. But, had no other picture perfect dress in mind. It didn't take long for me to realize that there are SO many gorgeous dresses and each one I put told a different story. Ultimately, I walked away with the perfect dress that I was able to make my own and had pieces of every dress I loved on Pinterest. :)
How did you know that you found "the dress"?
I was the bride that came in totally overwhelmed and stressed out. I wanted it to be "the perfect" dress that I never wanted to take off and told the perfect story for our wedding. I didn't have that "AH-HA" moment necessarily where everyone cries and says this is "the one". My dress ended up being the first dress I tried on and kept asking to put back on. I would try on others and always come back to this one. I took pictures in each one and just felt like I was most genuinely myself and happy in the dress I picked. That's how I knew that was the "the one".
tell US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE AT BRIDE TO BE COUTURE. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART?
I cannot express how grateful I am for the ladies at Bride to Be and my stylist (Monica)! Bride to Be was not the first shop I had gone to and I had tried on a handful of dresses before going there. I came in completely overwhelmed in trying to find the "PERFECT" dress, and remember bursting into tears the moment I walked in to the fitting room. That was when Monica took my hands, calmed me down, got me a glass of champagne, and just talked to me. It was the first time in the experience I felt like someone was listening to me and what I needed. She was amazing! She had me try the dress I had tried on and liked at other stores and we just focused on having fun. The moment I walked out, Dina (the owner), was there to give me her opinion and I felt like I could finally breathe again. It only took about 5 minutes for my guests and I to start laughing, taking photos, and twirl around the store (I had to be able to dance in it). Thank goodness for their patience and support, they got me through all the craziness of wedding planning and finding my dress.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR BRIDES THAT ARE AT THE BEGINNING OF THEIR DRESS SHOPPING JOURNEY?
Listen to your gut and your heart. If there is something you're not sure about, ASK! (You can always customize things) At the end of the day, wear what YOU feel good in and don't worry about what everyone else will say or think. Don't stress about the details, it always comes together. It truly goes by so quick- don't forget to breathe, have fun, and take in the moment! And oh yes, CONGRATULATIONS!
P.S. you'll look beautiful no matter what!
